How I Color My Hair

I've always had people ask me whether or not I get my hair done at a salon - the answer: no. As a college student, it's financially impossible for me to visit a salon every 4-5 weeks and pay over $80 for someone else to do my roots. Okay, so it's not technically "coloring", but here is a little peak into my root-bleaching routine....

Supplies (from Sally Beauty Supply)
- Mixing bowl & brush
- 30 Volume Cream Developer (2 fl. oz.)
- Quick Blue bleaching powder (1 Packet)

I usually leave the mixture on my roots for about 20 minutes. As I wash the bleach out, I use the generic version of Clairol Shimmer Lights purple shampoo in order to get rid of any brassiness or yellow-ish tones in my hair. So there you have it! A simple & frugal alternative to going to the salon! :-)

Disclaimer: I'm not a hair professional by any means - this is simply what I use to do my own hair.
