DIY: Branch Lamp

A cheap & chic way to add a modern, yet woodsy, touch to any space.

I bought a silver lamp base from a local thrift store for only $3. I hunted around my yard and gathered a bucket full of branches. I tried finding ones that had similar widths to them and just broke some of the longer ones. Luckily, I live in a pretty wooded area, so finding sticks laying around wasn't all that difficult. I hot-glued the sticks around the base of the lamp until I got about 2 inches from the cord on each side (nobody will see the back anyways). I bought the square lamp shade from Target for about $15. Of course, there are cheaper lamp shades available elsewhere if your the bargain-hunting type.
 And...Viola! Simple, right?
